Dear Cardinal Rode,

I would like to follow up with my last correspondences from June 24 and August 7.  The matter pertains to Father James Tully, a Xavarian Missionary Priest who sexually abused many children and myself while he worked here in the United States.  As I noted in my earlier correspondences to you, he is currently working in Vicenza, Italy.

I have made this petition for his laicization in response to the Holy Fathers statements in the United States.  Pope Benedict said, “We will absolutely exclude pedophiles from the sacred ministry; it is absolutely incompatible, and whoever is really guilty of being a pedophile cannot be a priest.”  I forwarded to you detailed information about Fr. Tully, which included a criminal record, legal settlement papers, and a letter written by a former Provincial who described Fr. Tully as an ephebophile.

The State of Wisconsin recently released to me the complete criminal record of Father Tully.  I am forwarding all this information to you with this letter.  Additional to the criminal complaint, there are affidavits, a statement by Father Tully’s psychotherapist, and the Case Record and Judgment.

This new information about Father Tully’s past criminal behaviors is shocking to me. The impact of the abuse Father Tully inflicted on so many innocent and vulnerable young people is shameful.  I am again saddened by yet another victim of Father Tully, who recently came forward for help in the Boston area. Where does this problem end?

 I am optimistic that you will be acting upon the Holy Father’s promise soon.  Father Tully remaining as a priest in the Church only continues to threaten the safety of our children.  He has often used the power and authority of his clerical state to seduce his victims.  Pope Benedict’s statements on this matter are unequivocal.  Please assure me that you will be acting expeditiously on this matter for the safety of the young people in Vicenza.
